last of the two evenings, when it was dark, at least after six

he sat down;
or lay along on a couch, as was the custom; see the

and the twelve apostles with him;
for Judas, after he had made his
bargain with the chief priests, Scribes, and elders, came and took
his place with the rest of the apostles, both to cover his sin, and
to watch the best opportunity of betraying his master.
