1 As the deer pants F373 for the water brooks, So my soul pants R1270 F373 for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts R1271 for God, for the living R1272 God; When shall I come and appear R1273 F374 before God? 3 My tears R1274 have been my food day and night, While they say R1275 to me all day long, "Where is your God?" 4 These things I remember and I pour R1276 out my soul within me. For I used R1277 to go along with the throng and lead F375 them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy R1278 and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. 5 Why R1279 are you in R1280 F376 despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed R1281 within me? Hope R1282 F377 in God, for I shall again F378 praise Him F379 For the help R1283 F380 of His presence.

6 O my God, my soul is in F381 despair within me; Therefore I remember R1284 You from the R1285 land of the Jordan And the peaks F382 of Hermon, R1286 from Mount Mizar. 7 Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers R1287 and Your waves have rolled over me. 8 The LORD will command R1288 His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in R1289 the night, A prayer to the R1290 God of my life. 9 I will say to God my R1291 rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning R1292 because F383 of the oppression R1293 of the enemy?" 10 As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, While they say R1294 to me all day long, "Where is your God?" 11 Why R1295 are you in F384 despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope F385 in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help F386 of my countenance and my God.

1 Vindicate R1296 me, O God, and plead R1297 my case against an ungodly nation; O F387 deliver me from the R1298 deceitful and unjust man! 2 For You are the God R1299 of my strength; why have You rejected R1300 me? Why do I go mourning R1301 because F388 of the oppression of the enemy? 3 O send out Your light R1302 and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy R1303 hill And to Your dwelling R1304 places. 4 Then I will go to the R1305 altar of God, To God my F389 exceeding joy; R1306 And upon the lyre R1307 I shall praise You, O God, my God. 5 Why R1308 are you in F390 despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope F391 in God, for I shall again F392 praise Him, The help F393 of my countenance and my God.

1 O God, we have heard with our ears, Our fathers R1309 have told us The work R1310 that You did in their days, In the days R1311 of old. 2 You with Your own hand drove R1312 out the nations; Then You planted R1313 them; You afflicted R1314 the peoples, Then You spread R1315 them abroad. 3 For by their own sword they did R1316 not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm R1317 and the light R1318 of Your presence, For You favored R1319 them. 4 You are my R1320 King, O God; Command R1321 victories F394 for Jacob. 5 Through You we will push R1322 back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample R1323 down those who rise up against us. 6 For I will not R1324 trust in my bow, Nor will my sword save me. 7 But You have R1325 saved us from our adversaries, And You have put R1326 to shame those who hate us. 8 In God we have boasted R1327 all day long, And we will give R1328 thanks to Your name forever. Selah. F395

9 Yet You have R1329 rejected us and brought us to dishonor, R1330 And do R1331 not go out with our armies. 10 You cause us to turn R1332 back from the adversary; And those who hate us have R1333 taken spoil for themselves. 11 You give us as sheep R1334 to F396 be eaten And have scattered R1335 us among the nations. 12 You sell R1336 Your people cheaply, F397 And have not profited F398 by their sale. 13 You make us a reproach R1337 to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision R1338 to those around us. 14 You make us a R1339 byword among the nations, A laughingstock R1340 F399 among the peoples. 15 All day long my dishonor is before me And my F400 humiliation R1341 has overwhelmed me, 16 Because of the voice of him who reproaches R1342 and reviles, Because of the presence of the enemy R1343 and the avenger.

17 All this has come upon us, but we have not R1344 forgotten You, And we have not dealt R1345 falsely with Your covenant. 18 Our heart has not turned R1346 back, And our steps have R1347 not deviated from Your way, 19 Yet You have crushed R1348 us in a place of jackals R1349 And covered us with the R1350 shadow of death. 20 If we had forgotten R1351 the name of our God Or extended our hands F401 to a R1352 strange god, 21 Would not God find R1353 this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. 22 But for R1354 Your sake we are killed all day long; We are considered as sheep R1355 to be slaughtered. 23 Arouse R1356 Yourself, why do R1357 You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do R1358 not reject us forever. 24 Why do You hide R1359 Your face And forget R1360 our affliction and our oppression? 25 For our soul R1361 has sunk down into the dust; Our body cleaves to the earth. 26 Rise R1362 up, be our help, And redeem R1363 us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.

1 My heart overflows F402 with a good theme; I address F403 my verses F404 to the King; F405 My tongue is the pen of a R1364 ready writer. 2 You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace R1365 is poured upon F406 Your lips; Therefore God has blessed R1366 You forever. 3 Gird Your R1367 sword on Your thigh, O Mighty R1368 F407 One, In Your splendor and Your majesty! 4 And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, For the cause of truth and meekness R1369 and righteousness; Let Your right R1370 hand teach You awesome F408 things. 5 Your arrows R1371 are sharp; The peoples R1372 fall under You; Your arrows are in R1373 the heart of the King's enemies.

6 Your R1374 throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness R1375 is the scepter of Your kingdom. 7 You have loved R1376 righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed R1377 You With the oil of joy above Your fellows. 8 All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh R1378 and aloes and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed R1379 instruments have made You glad. 9 Kings' daughters are among Your R1380 noble ladies; At Your right R1381 hand stands the queen in gold R1382 from Ophir.

10 Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget R1383 your people and your father's house; 11 Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, R1384 bow R1385 down to Him. 12 The daughter of Tyre R1386 will come with a gift; The rich R1387 among the people will seek your favor. 13 The King's daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven R1388 with gold. 14 She will be led R1389 to the King in R1390 embroidered work; The virgins, R1391 her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You. 15 They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; They will enter into the King's palace. 16 In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth. 17 I will cause Your R1392 name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will R1393 give You thanks forever and ever.

1 God is our refuge R1394 and strength, A F409 very present R1395 help in R1396 trouble. F410 2 Therefore we will not R1397 fear, though the R1398 earth should change And though the R1399 mountains slip into the heart of the sea; F411 3 Though its waters R1400 roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. F412 4 There is a river R1401 whose streams make glad the city R1402 of God, The holy dwelling R1403 places of the Most High. 5 God is in R1404 the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help R1405 her when F413 morning dawns.

6 The nations F414 made R1406 an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised R1407 F415 His voice, the earth melted. R1408 7 The LORD of hosts is R1409 with us; The God of Jacob is our R1410 stronghold. Selah. 8 Come, behold R1411 the works of the LORD, Who F416 has wrought desolations R1412 in the earth. 9 He makes R1413 wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks R1414 the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns R1415 the chariots with fire. 10 "Cease F417 striving and know R1416 that I am God; I will be exalted R1417 among the nations, F418 I will be exalted in the earth." 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah.

1 O clap R1418 your hands, all peoples; Shout R1419 to God with the voice of joy. F419 2 For the LORD Most High is to be feared, R1420 A great R1421 King over all the earth. 3 He subdues R1422 peoples under us And nations under our feet. 4 He chooses our inheritance R1423 for us, The glory R1424 of Jacob whom He loves. Selah. F420

5 God has ascended R1425 with F421 a shout, The LORD, with F421 the sound R1426 of a trumpet. 6 Sing R1427 praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our R1428 King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King R1429 of all the earth; Sing praises with R1430 a skillful F422 psalm. 8 God reigns R1431 over the nations, God sits F423 on His R1432 holy throne. 9 The princes R1433 F424 of the people have assembled themselves as the people R1434 of the God of Abraham, For the shields R1435 of the earth belong to God; He is F425 highly R1436 exalted.

1 Great R1437 is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city R1438 of our God, His holy R1439 mountain. 2 Beautiful R1440 in elevation, the R1441 joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city R1442 of the great King. 3 God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold. R1443 4 For, lo, the kings R1444 assembled themselves, They passed by together. 5 They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, R1445 they fled F426 in alarm. 6 Panic F427 seized them there, Anguish, as of a R1446 woman in childbirth. 7 With the east R1447 wind You break R1448 the ships R1449 of Tarshish.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish R1450 her forever. Selah. F428 9 We have thought on Your R1451 lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple. 10 As is Your name, R1452 O God, So is Your praise R1453 to the ends of the earth; Your right R1454 hand is full of righteousness. 11 Let Mount Zion R1455 be glad, Let the daughters R1455 of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments. 12 Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers; R1456 13 Consider her ramparts; R1457 Go through her palaces, That you may tell R1458 it to the next generation. 14 For such F429 is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide R1459 us until F430 death.

1 Hear R1460 this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants R1461 of the world, 2 Both low R1462 and high, Rich and poor together. 3 My mouth will speak R1463 wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding. R1464 4 I will incline my ear to a R1465 proverb; I R1466 will express F431 my riddle R1467 on the harp. 5 Why should I fear R1468 in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes F432 surrounds me,

6 Even those who trust R1469 in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches? 7 No man can by any means redeem R1470 his brother Or give to God a ransom R1471 for him-- 8 For the R1472 redemption of his F433 soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever-- 9 That he should live R1473 on eternally, That he should not undergo R1474 F434 decay. 10 For he sees that even wise R1475 men die; The stupid R1476 and the senseless alike perish And leave R1477 their wealth to others. 11 Their inner R1478 F435 thought is that their houses are R1479 forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called R1480 their lands after their own names. 12 But man R1481 in his pomp F436 will not endure; He is like the beasts F437 that perish. F438 13 This is the way R1482 of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve R1483 their words. Selah. F439 14 As sheep they are appointed for R1484 Sheol; F440 Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright R1485 shall rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for Sheol F440 to R1486 consume So F441 that they have no habitation.

15 But God will redeem R1487 my soul from the power F442 of Sheol, F443 For He R1488 will receive me. Selah. 16 Do not be afraid when R1489 a man becomes rich, When the glory F444 of his house is increased; 17 For when he dies he will carry R1490 nothing away; His glory F445 will not descend after him. 18 Though while he lives he congratulates R1491 himself-- F446 And though men praise you when you do well for yourself-- 19 He F447 shall go R1492 to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the R1493 light. 20 Man R1494 in his pomp, F448 yet without understanding, Is like R1495 the beasts F449 that perish. F450

1 The R1496 Mighty One, God, the LORD, has spoken, And summoned the earth from R1497 the rising of the sun to its setting. 2 Out of Zion, the R1498 perfection of beauty, God has R1499 shone forth. 3 May our God come R1500 and not keep silence; Fire R1501 devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous R1502 around Him. 4 He summons R1503 the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people: 5 "Gather My godly R1504 ones to Me, Those who have made a covenant R1505 with Me by sacrifice." R1506 6 And the heavens R1507 declare His righteousness, For God R1508 Himself is judge. Selah. F451

7 "Hear, R1509 O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against F452 you; I am God, your R1510 God. 8 "I do not R1511 reprove you for your sacrifices, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me. 9 "I shall take no young R1512 bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds. 10 "For every R1513 beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11 "I know every bird R1514 of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. F453 12 "If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world R1515 is Mine, and all F454 it contains. 13 "Shall I eat the flesh of bulls R1516 F455 Or drink the blood of male goats? 14 "Offer to God a R1517 sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay R1518 your vows to the Most High; 15 Call R1519 upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue R1520 you, and you will honor R1521 Me."

16 But to the wicked God says, "What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My R1522 covenant in your mouth? 17 "For you hate R1523 discipline, And you cast R1524 My words behind you. 18 "When you see a thief, you are R1525 F456 pleased with him, And you F457 associate R1526 with adulterers. 19 "You let R1527 F458 your mouth loose in evil And your tongue R1528 frames deceit. 20 "You sit and speak R1529 against your brother; You slander your own mother's son. 21 "These things you have done and I R1530 kept silence; You thought that I was just like you; I will reprove R1531 you and state the case in order before your eyes. 22 "Now consider this, you who forget R1532 God, Or I will tear R1533 you in pieces, and there will be none to deliver. 23 "He who offers R1534 a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who orders R1535 F459 his way aright I shall show R1536 the salvation of God."

1 Be R1537 gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your R1538 compassion blot R1539 out my transgressions. 2 Wash R1540 me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse R1541 me from my sin. 3 For I F460 know R1542 my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. 4 Against R1543 You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil R1544 in Your sight, So that You R1545 are F461 justified when F462 You speak And blameless F463 when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought R1546 forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth R1547 in the innermost F464 being, And in the hidden part You will make R1548 me know wisdom.

7 Purify F465 me with R1549 hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash F466 me, and I shall be whiter R1550 than snow. 8 Make F467 me to hear joy R1551 and gladness, Let the bones R1552 which You have broken rejoice. 9 Hide R1553 Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create R1554 in F468 me a clean R1555 heart, O God, And renew a F469 steadfast R1556 spirit within me. 11 Do R1557 not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy R1558 Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy R1559 of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing R1560 spirit. 13 Then I will teach R1561 transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be F470 converted R1562 to You.

14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, R1563 O God, the R1564 God of my salvation; Then my tongue R1565 will joyfully sing of Your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open R1566 F471 my lips, That my mouth may declare R1567 Your praise. 16 For You do R1568 not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken R1569 spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. 18 By R1570 Your favor do good to Zion; Build R1571 F472 the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then You will delight in righteous R1572 F473 sacrifices, In burnt R1573 offering and whole burnt offering; Then young F474 bulls will be offered on Your altar.

1 Why do you boast R1574 in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness R1575 of God endures all day long. 2 Your tongue devises destruction, R1576 Like a sharp R1577 razor, O R1578 worker of deceit. 3 You love R1579 evil more than good, Falsehood R1580 more than speaking what is right. Selah. F475 4 You love all words that devour, O deceitful R1581 tongue. 5 But F476 God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear R1582 you away from your tent, And uproot R1583 you from the land R1584 of the living. Selah.

6 The righteous will see R1585 and fear, And will laugh R1586 at him, saying, 7 "Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted R1587 in the abundance of his riches And was R1588 strong in his F477 evil desire." 8 But as for me, I am like a green R1589 olive tree in the house of God; I trust R1590 in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. 9 I will give R1591 You thanks forever, because You have done it, And I will wait on Your name, for R1592 it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.

1 The R1593 fool has said in his heart, "There is no God," They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice; There R1594 is no one who does good. 2 God has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there is anyone R1595 who understands, F478 Who seeks R1596 after God. 3 Every R1597 one of them has turned aside; together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one. 4 Have the workers of wickedness no R1598 knowledge, Who eat up My people as though they ate bread And have not called upon God? 5 There they were in great fear F479 where R1599 no fear F479 had been; For God scattered R1600 the bones of him F480 who encamped against you; You put R1601 them to shame, because God R1602 had rejected them. 6 Oh, that the R1603 salvation of Israel would F481 come out of Zion! When God restores F482 His captive people, Let F483 Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.

1 Save me, O God, by Your R1604 name, And vindicate F484 me by Your R1605 power. 2 Hear R1606 my prayer, O God; Give R1607 ear to the words of my mouth. 3 For strangers have risen R1608 against me And violent R1609 men have sought R1610 my life; F485 They have not R1611 set God before them. Selah. F486

4 Behold, God R1612 is my helper; The Lord is the F487 sustainer R1613 of my soul. 5 He F488 will recompense R1614 the evil to my F489 foes; Destroy R1615 F490 them in R1616 Your faithfulness. F491 6 Willingly R1617 F492 I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks R1618 to Your name, O LORD, for it is good. 7 For He F493 has delivered R1619 me from all trouble, F494 And my eye has looked R1620 with satisfaction upon my enemies.

1 Give R1621 ear to my prayer, O God; And do R1622 not hide Yourself from my supplication. 2 Give heed R1623 to me and answer me; I am restless in my complaint R1624 and am R1625 F495 surely distracted, 3 Because of the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure R1626 of the wicked; For they bring R1627 down trouble F496 upon me And in anger they bear R1628 a grudge against me. 4 My heart R1629 is in anguish within me, And the terrors of death R1630 have fallen upon me. 5 Fear and trembling R1631 come upon me, And horror R1632 F497 has overwhelmed me. 6 I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be R1633 F498 at rest. 7 "Behold, I would wander far away, I would lodge R1634 in the wilderness. Selah. F499 8 "I would hasten to my place of refuge From the stormy R1635 wind and tempest."

9 Confuse, F500 O Lord, divide R1636 their tongues, For I have seen violence R1637 and strife in the city. 10 Day and night they go around her upon her walls, And iniquity and mischief are in her midst. 11 Destruction R1638 is in her midst; Oppression R1639 and deceit do not depart from her streets. F501 12 For it is not R1640 an enemy who reproaches me, Then I could bear it; Nor is it one who hates me who has R1641 exalted himself against me, Then I could hide myself from him. 13 But it is you, a man my F502 equal, My companion R1642 and my familiar R1643 F503 friend; 14 We who had sweet fellowship F504 together Walked R1644 in the house of God in the throng. 15 Let death F505 come deceitfully R1645 upon them; Let them go R1646 down alive to Sheol, F506 For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.

16 As for me, I shall call R1647 upon God, And the LORD will save me. 17 Evening R1648 and morning R1649 and at noon, R1650 I will complain and murmur, And He will hear my voice. 18 He will redeem R1651 my soul in peace from F507 the battle which is against me, For they are many R1652 who strive with me. 19 God will hear R1653 and answer F508 them-- Even the one who R1654 sits F509 enthroned from of old-- Selah. With whom there is F510 no change, And who do R1655 not fear God. 20 He has put forth his hands against those R1656 who were at peace with him; He has violated R1657 F511 his covenant. 21 His speech F512 was smoother R1658 than butter, But his heart was war; His words were softer R1658 than oil, Yet they were drawn swords. R1659 22 Cast R1660 your F513 burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He R1661 will never allow the righteous to be R1662 F514 shaken. 23 But You, O God, will bring them down to the pit R1663 F515 of destruction; Men R1664 of bloodshed and deceit will not R1665 live out half their days. But I will trust R1666 in You.

1 Be gracious to me, O God, for man has trampled R1667 F516 upon me; Fighting F517 all day long he oppresses R1668 me. 2 My foes have trampled R1669 F518 upon me all day long, For they F519 are many who fight R1670 proudly against me. 3 When F520 I am afraid, R1671 I F521 will put R1672 my trust in You. 4 In R1673 God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What R1674 can mere man F522 do to me? 5 All day long they distort R1675 F523 my words; All their thoughts R1676 F524 are against me for evil. 6 They attack, R1677 F525 they lurk, They watch R1678 my steps, F526 As they have waited R1679 to take my life. F527 7 Because of wickedness, cast R1680 F528 them forth, In anger put R1681 down the peoples, O God!

8 You have R1682 taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears R1683 in Your bottle. Are they not in Your R1684 book? 9 Then my enemies will turn R1685 back in R1686 the day when I call; This I know, that F529 God R1687 is for me. 10 In God, whose word I praise, In the LORD, whose word I praise, 11 In God I have put my trust, F530 I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? 12 Your vows R1688 are binding upon me, O God; I will render thank offerings to You. 13 For You have delivered R1689 my soul from death, Indeed F531 my R1690 feet from stumbling, So that I may walk R1691 before God In the light R1692 of the living. F532

1 Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, For my soul takes R1693 refuge in You; And in the shadow R1694 of Your wings I will take refuge Until destruction passes R1695 by. 2 I will cry to God Most High, To God who accomplishes R1696 all things for me. 3 He will send R1697 from heaven and save me; He reproaches him who tramples R1698 F533 upon me. Selah. F534 God will send forth His lovingkindness R1699 and His truth. F535 4 My soul is among lions; R1700 I must lie among those who breathe forth fire, Even the sons of men, whose teeth R1701 are spears and arrows And their tongue R1702 a sharp sword. 5 Be R1703 exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth. 6 They have prepared F536 a net R1704 for my steps; My soul is bowed R1705 down; They dug R1706 a pit before me; They themselves have fallen R1707 into the midst of it. Selah.

7 My R1708 heart R1709 is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises! 8 Awake, my R1710 glory! Awake, harp R1711 and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. 9 I R1712 will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations. F537 10 For Your lovingkindness R1713 is great to the heavens And Your truth F538 to the clouds. 11 Be R1714 exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth.

1 Do you indeed speak F539 righteousness, O gods? F540 Do you judge R1715 uprightly, F541 O sons of men? 2 No, in heart you work R1716 unrighteousness; On earth you weigh R1717 out the violence of your hands. 3 The wicked are estranged from R1718 the womb; These who speak lies go R1719 astray from birth. F542 4 They have venom like the venom R1720 of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear, 5 So that it does R1721 not hear the voice of charmers, R1722 F543 Or a skillful caster of spells.

6 O God, shatter R1723 their teeth in their mouth; Break out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD. 7 Let them flow R1724 away like water that runs off; When he aims R1725 F544 his arrows, let them be as headless F545 shafts. 8 Let them be as a snail which melts F546 away as it goes along, Like the miscarriages R1726 of a woman which never see the sun. 9 Before your pots R1727 can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep R1728 them away with a whirlwind, the green F547 and the burning alike. 10 The righteous R1729 will rejoice when he sees R1730 the vengeance; He will wash R1731 his feet in the blood of the wicked. 11 And men will say, "Surely there is a reward R1732 F548 for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges R1733 on F549 earth!"

1 Deliver R1734 me from my enemies, O my God; Set R1735 F550 me securely on high away from those who rise up against me. 2 Deliver me from those R1736 who do iniquity And save me from men R1737 of bloodshed. 3 For behold, they have R1738 set F551 an ambush for my life; F552 Fierce F553 men launch R1738 F554 an attack against me, Not R1739 for my transgression nor for my sin, O LORD, 4 For R1740 F555 no guilt of mine, they run and set themselves against me. Arouse R1741 Yourself to help F556 me, and see! 5 You, O R1742 LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, Awake to punish R1743 F557 all the nations; Do R1744 not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity. Selah. F558 6 They return R1745 at evening, they howl like a dog, R1746 And go around the city. 7 Behold, they belch R1747 forth with their mouth; Swords R1748 are in their lips, For, they say, "Who R1749 hears?"

8 But You, O LORD, laugh R1750 at them; You scoff R1751 at all the nations. 9 Because of his F559 strength R1752 I will watch for You, For God is my stronghold. R1753 10 My F560 God in R1754 His lovingkindness will meet me; God will let me look R1755 triumphantly upon my F561 foes. 11 Do not slay them, or R1756 my people will forget; Scatter R1757 F562 them by Your power, and bring them down, O Lord, our R1758 shield. 12 On F563 account of the sin R1759 of their mouth and the words of their lips, Let them even be caught R1760 in their pride, And on account of curses R1761 and lies F564 which they utter. 13 Destroy R1762 F565 them in wrath, destroy F565 them that they may be no more; That men may know R1763 that God rules F566 in Jacob To the ends of the earth. Selah. 14 They return R1764 at evening, they howl like a dog, And go around the city. 15 They wander R1765 about for F567 food And growl F568 if they are not satisfied.
