1 Chronicles 17:16-27 [ Verse 17 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
16 And David the king came (8799) and sat (8799) before the LORD, and said (8799), Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought (8689) me hitherto? 17 And yet this was a small thing (8799) in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken (8762) of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded (8804) me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God. 18 What can David speak more (8686) to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest (8804) thy servant. 19 O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done (8804) all this greatness, in making known (8687) all these great things. 20 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard (8804) with our ears. 21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went (8804) to redeem (8800) to be his own people, to make (8800) thee a name of greatness and terribleness (8737), by driving out (8763) nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed (8804) out of Egypt? 22 For thy people Israel didst thou make (8799) thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God. 23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken (8765) concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established (8735) for ever, and do (8798) as thou hast said (8765). 24 Let it even be established (8735), that thy name may be magnified (8799) for ever, saying (8800), The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established (8737) before thee. 25 For thou, O my God, hast told * (8804) thy servant that thou wilt build (8800) him an house: therefore thy servant hath found (8804) in his heart to pray (8692) before thee. 26 And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised (8762) this goodness unto thy servant: 27 Now therefore let it please (8689) thee to bless (8763) the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest (8765), O LORD, and it shall be blessed (8794) for ever.
