1 Corinthians 14:1-5 [ Verse 4 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Follow (5720) after charity, and desire (5720) spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy (5725). 2 For he that speaketh (5723) in an unknown tongue speaketh (5719) not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth (5719) him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh (5719) mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth (5723) speaketh (5719) unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4 He that speaketh (5723) in an unknown tongue edifieth (5719) himself; but he that prophesieth (5723) edifieth (5719) the church. 5 I would (5719) that ye all spake (5721) with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied (5725): for greater is he that prophesieth (5723) than he that speaketh (5723) with tongues, except he interpret (5725), that the church may receive (5632) edifying.
