1 Corinthians 4:1-6 [ Verse 6 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants R139 of Christ and stewards R140 of the R141 mysteries of God. 2 In this case, moreover, it is required of F38 stewards that one be found trustworthy. 3 But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; F39 in fact, I do not even examine myself. 4 For I am R142 conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; R143 but the one who examines me is the Lord. 5 Therefore do R144 not go on passing F40 judgment before the F41 time, but wait until R145 the Lord comes who will both bring R146 to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise R147 will come to him from God. 6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what R148 is written, so that no one of you will become R149 arrogant F42 in R150 behalf of one against the other.

FOOTNOTES:
F38 Lit in
F39 Lit day
F40 Lit judging anything
F41 I.e. the appointed time of judgment
F42 Lit puffed up
