1 Corinthians 8:7-13 [ Verse 8 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
7 However not all men have R293 this knowledge; but some, R294 being accustomed to the idol until now, eat food as if it were sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 8 But food R295 will not commend F90 us to God; we are neither the F91 worse if we do not eat, nor the F92 better if we do eat. 9 But take R296 care that this liberty F93 of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. R297 10 For if someone sees you, who have knowledge, R298 dining in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be strengthened to eat things R299 sacrificed to idols? 11 For through your R300 knowledge he who is weak is R301 ruined, the brother for whose sake Christ died. 12 And R302 so, by sinning against the brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against R303 Christ. 13 Therefore, if R304 food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.
