1 Samuel 12:6-15 [ Verse 12 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
6 And Samuel said (8799) unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced (8804) Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up (8689) out of the land of Egypt. 7 Now therefore stand still (8690), that I may reason (8735) with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did (8804) to you and to your fathers. 8 When Jacob was come (8804) into Egypt, and your fathers cried (8799) unto the LORD, then the LORD sent (8799) Moses and Aaron, which brought forth (8686) your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell (8686) in this place. 9 And when they forgat (8799) the LORD their God, he sold (8799) them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought (8735) against them. 10 And they cried (8799) unto the LORD, and said (8799), We have sinned (8804), because we have forsaken (8804) the LORD, and have served (8799) Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver (8685) us out of the hand of our enemies (8802), and we will serve (8799) thee. 11 And the LORD sent (8799) Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered (8686) you out of the hand of your enemies (8802) on every side, and ye dwelled (8799) safe. 12 And when ye saw (8799) that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came (8804) against you, ye said (8799) unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign (8799) over us: when the LORD your God was your king. 13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen (8804), and whom ye have desired (8804)! and, behold, the LORD hath set (8804) a king over you. 14 If ye will fear (8799) the LORD, and serve (8804) him, and obey (8804) his voice, and not rebel (8686) against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth (8804) over you continue following the LORD your God: 15 But if ye will not obey (8799) the voice of the LORD, but rebel (8804) against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.
