1 Samuel 24:16-22 [ Verse 16 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
16 And it came to pass, when David had made an end (8763) of speaking (8763) these words unto Saul, that Saul said (8799), Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up (8799) his voice, and wept (8799). 17 And he said (8799) to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded (8804) me good, whereas I have rewarded (8804) thee evil. 18 And thou hast shewed (8689) this day how that thou hast dealt (8804) well with me: forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered (8765) me into thine hand, thou killedst (8804) me not. 19 For if a man find (8799) his enemy (8802), will he let him go (8765) well away? wherefore the LORD reward (8762) thee good for that thou hast done (8804) unto me this day. 20 And now, behold, I know well (8804) that thou shalt surely (8800) be king (8799), and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established (8804) in thine hand. 21 Swear (8734) now therefore unto me by the LORD, that thou wilt not cut off (8686) my seed after me, and that thou wilt not destroy (8686) my name out of my father's house. 22 And David sware (8735) unto Saul. And Saul went (8799) home; but David and his men gat them up (8804) unto the hold.
