1 Samuel 4:19-22 [ Verse 20 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
19 And his daughter in law, Phinehas' wife, was with child, near to be delivered (8800): and when she heard (8799) the tidings that the ark of God was taken (8736), and that her father in law and her husband were dead (8804), she bowed (8799) herself and travailed (8799); for her pains came (8738) upon her. 20 And about the time of her death (8800) the women that stood (8737) by her said (8762) unto her, Fear (8799) not; for thou hast born (8804) a son. But she answered (8804) not, neither did she regard * (8804) it. 21 And she named (8799) the child Ichabod, saying (8800), The glory is departed (8804) from Israel: because the ark of God was taken (8736), and because of her father in law and her husband. 22 And she said (8799), The glory is departed (8804) from Israel: for the ark of God is taken (8738).
