Thanksgiving for These Believers

1 Paul R1 and Silvanus R2 and Timothy, R3

To the church R4 of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace R5 to you and peace.

2 We R6 give thanks to God always for all of you, making R7 mention of you in our prayers; 3 constantly bearing in mind your work R8 of faith and labor of love R9 and steadfastness R10 F1 of hope in F2 our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our R11 God and Father, 4 knowing, brethren R12 beloved by God, His R13 choice of you; 5 for our gospel R14 did not come to you in word only, but also in R15 power and in the Holy Spirit and with full R16 conviction; just as you know what R17 kind of men we proved F3 to be among you for your sake. 6 You also became imitators R18 of us and of the Lord, having R19 received the R20 word in much tribulation with the joy R21 of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia R22 and in Achaia. R23 8 For the R24 word of the Lord has sounded R25 forth from you, not only in Macedonia R26 and Achaia, R27 but also in R28 every place your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything. 9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception R29 F4 we had with F5 you, and how you turned R30 to God from R31 idols F6 to serve a R32 F7 living and true God, 10 and to wait R33 for His Son from heaven, F8 whom He raised R34 from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues R35 us from the R36 wrath to come.
