Nor of men sought (5723) we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might (5740) have been (5750) burdensome *, as the apostles of Christ.

But we were (5675) gentle among * * you, even as a nurse cherisheth * (5725) her children:

For ye remember (5719), brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring (5740) night and day, because we would not be chargeable (5658) unto any of you, we preached (5656) unto you the gospel of God.

As ye know (5758) how we exhorted (5723) and comforted (5740) and charged (5734) every one of you *, as a father doth his children,

For this cause also thank (5719) we God without ceasing, because, when ye received (5631) the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received (5662) it not as the word of men, but as it is (5748) in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh (5731) also in you that believe (5723).
