1 Timothy 2:1-8 [ Verse 7 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties R65 and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for R66 kings and all who are in authority, F14 so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. F15 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God R67 our Savior, 4 who R68 desires all men to be saved R69 and to come R70 to the knowledge F16 of the truth. 5 For there is one R71 God, and one R72 mediator also between God and men, the man R73 Christ Jesus, 6 who gave R74 Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony R75 given F17 at the R76 F18 proper time. 7 For R77 this I was appointed a preacher F19 and an R78 apostle (I R79 am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the R80 Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 Therefore I R81 want the men in R82 every place to pray, lifting R83 up holy R84 hands, without wrath and dissension.

FOOTNOTES:
