Manasseh was twelve * * years old when he began to reign (8800), and he reigned (8804) fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

But did (8799) that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out (8689) before the children of Israel.

For he built (8799) again (8799) the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down (8765), and he reared up (8686) altars for Baalim, and made (8799) groves, and worshipped (8691) all the host of heaven, and served (8799) them.

Also he built (8804) altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said (8804), In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

And he caused his children to pass through (8689) the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times (8782), and used enchantments (8765), and used witchcraft (8765), and dealt (8804) with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought (8800) much (8689) evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger (8687).

So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants (8802) of Jerusalem to err (8686), and to do (8800) worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed (8689) before the children of Israel.

Now after this he built (8804) a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entering in (8800) at the fish gate, and compassed (8804) about Ophel, and raised it up (8686) a very great height, and put (8799) captains of war in all the fenced (8803) cities of Judah.
