[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ] - 22 Are they Hebrews? R428 So R429 am I. Are they Israelites? R430 So R430 am I. Are they descendants R431 F88 of Abraham? So R432 am I. 23 Are they servants R433 of Christ?--I speak as if insane--I more so; in far R434 F89 more labors, in far R435 F89 more imprisonments, beaten R436 F90 times without number, often in danger R437 of death. 24 Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine R438 lashes. 25 Three times I was beaten R439 with rods, once I was stoned, R440 three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. 26 I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, R441 dangers from the Gentiles, R442 dangers in the city, R443 dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among false R444 brethren; 27 I have been in labor R445 and hardship, through F91 many sleepless nights, in hunger R446 and thirst, often without R447 food, in cold and exposure. R448 F92 28 Apart from such external F93 things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all R449 the churches. 29 Who is weak R450 without my being weak? Who is led F94 into sin without F95 my intense concern? 30 If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my weakness. R451 31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, He R452 who is blessed forever, knows R453 that I am not lying. 32 In Damascus R454 the ethnarch under Aretas the king was guarding R455 the city of the Damascenes in order to seize me, 33 and I was let down in a basket through R456 a window in F96 the wall, and so escaped his hands.
