2 Kings 16:5-9 [ Verse 6 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
5 Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up (8799) to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged (8799) Ahaz, but could (8804) not overcome (8736) him. 6 At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered (8689) Elath to Syria * (8675), and drave (8762) the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came (8804) to Elath, and dwelt (8799) there unto this day. 7 So Ahaz sent (8799) messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying (8800), I am thy servant and thy son: come up (8798), and save (8685) me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up (8801) against me. 8 And Ahaz took (8799) the silver and gold that was found (8737) in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent (8799) it for a present to the king of Assyria. 9 And the king of Assyria hearkened (8799) unto him: for the king of Assyria went up (8799) against Damascus, and took (8799) it, and carried the people of it captive (8686) to Kir, and slew (8689) Rezin.
