[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
8 The Lord GOD has sworn R191 by Himself, the LORD God of hosts has declared: "I loathe R192 the arrogance of Jacob, And detest F73 his citadels; R193 Therefore I will deliver R194 up the city and all F74 it contains." 9 And it will be, if ten R195 men are left in one house, they will die. 10 Then one's uncle, F75 or his undertaker, R196 F76 will lift him up to carry out his bones from the house, and he will say to the one who is in the innermost part of the house, "Is anyone else with you?" And that one will say, "No one." Then he will answer, F77 "Keep R197 quiet. For the F78 name of the LORD is not R198 to be mentioned." 11 For behold, the LORD is going to command R199 that the great R200 house be smashed to pieces and the small house to fragments. 12 Do horses run on rocks? Or does one plow them F79 with oxen? Yet you have turned justice R201 into poison And the fruit of righteousness into wormwood, F80 13 You who rejoice in Lodebar, R202 F81 And F82 say, "Have we not by R203 our own strength taken Karnaim F83 for ourselves?" 14 "For behold, I R204 am going to raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel," declares the LORD God of hosts, "And they will afflict you from the entrance R205 of Hamath To the brook R205 of the Arabah."
