Daniel 2:14-23 [ Verse 22 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
14 Then Daniel answered (8684) with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth (8754) to slay (8742) the wise men of Babylon: 15 He answered (8750) and said (8750) to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty (8683) from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known (8684) to Daniel. 16 Then Daniel went in (8754), and desired (8754) of the king that he would give (8748) him time, and that he would shew (8682) the king the interpretation. 17 Then Daniel went (8754) to his house, and made the thing known (8684) to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: 18 That they would desire (8749) mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish (8681) with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then was the secret revealed (8752) unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed (8745) the God of heaven. 20 Daniel answered (8750) and said (8750), Blessed (8743) be (8748) the name of God for ever and ever *: for wisdom and might are his: 21 And he changeth (8683) the times and the seasons: he removeth (8683) kings, and setteth up (8683) kings: he giveth (8751) wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know (8751) understanding: 22 He revealeth (8751) the deep and secret things (8743): he knoweth (8751) what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth (8754) with him. 23 I thank (8683) thee, and praise (8743) thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given (8754) me wisdom and might, and hast made known (8684) unto me now what we desired (8754) of thee: for thou hast now made known (8684) unto us the king's matter.
