Family Relationships

Children, R337 obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 HONOR R338 YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3 SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.

Fathers, R339 do not provoke your children to anger, but bring R340 them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Slaves, R341 be obedient to those who are your masters F98 according to the flesh, with fear R342 and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as R343 to Christ; 6 not R344 by F99 way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, R345 but as slaves R346 of Christ, doing R347 the will of God from the heart. F100 7 With good will render F101 service, as R348 to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing R349 that whatever R350 good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether R351 slave or free.

And masters, do the same things to them, and give R352 up threatening, knowing that both R353 their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no R354 partiality with Him.

The Armor of God

Finally, be R355 strong in the Lord and in the R356 strength of His might. 11 Put R357 on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes R358 of the devil. 12 For our struggle R359 is not against flesh R360 F102 and blood, but against R361 the rulers, against the powers, against the world R362 forces of this darkness, R363 against the spiritual R364 forces of wickedness in the R365 heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the R366 full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist R367 in the R368 evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING R369 GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT R370 ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod R371 YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in F103 addition to all, taking up the shield R372 of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming R373 arrows of the R374 evil one. 17 And take THE R375 HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword R376 of the Spirit, which is the R377 word of God.

With F104 all prayer R378 and petition pray R379 F105 at all times in R380 the Spirit, and with this in view, be R381 F106 on the alert with all perseverance R382 and petition R383 for all the saints, 19 and pray R384 on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in R385 the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness R386 the R387 mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador R388 in R389 chains; F107 that in F108 proclaiming it I may speak boldly, R390 as R391 I ought to speak.

But R392 that you also may know about my circumstances, how F109 I am doing, Tychicus, R393 the R394 beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make everything known to you. 22 I R395 F110 have sent him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know about F111 us, and that he may comfort R396 your hearts.

Peace R397 be to the brethren, and love R398 with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with F112 incorruptible love.
