After these things did king Ahasuerus promote (8765) Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced (8762) him, and set (8799) his seat above all the princes that were with him.

In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth * * year of king Ahasuerus, they cast (8689) Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.

The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given (8736) in every province was published (8803) unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.

The posts (8801) went out (8804), being hastened (8803) by the king's commandment, and the decree was given (8738) in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down (8804) to drink (8800); but the city Shushan was perplexed (8737).
