Ezekiel 14:12-23 [ Verse 13 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying (8800), 13 Son of man, when the land sinneth (8799) against me by trespassing (8800) grievously, then will I stretch out (8804) mine hand upon it, and will break (8804) the staff of the bread thereof, and will send (8689) famine upon it, and will cut off (8689) man and beast from it: 14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver (8762) but their own souls by their righteousness, saith (8803) the Lord GOD. 15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through (8686) the land, and they spoil (8765) it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through (8802) because of the beasts: 16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith (8803) the Lord GOD, they shall deliver (8686) neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered (8735), but the land shall be desolate. 17 Or if I bring (8686) a sword upon that land, and say (8804), Sword, go through (8799) the land; so that I cut off (8689) man and beast from it: 18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith (8803) the Lord GOD, they shall deliver (8686) neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered (8735) themselves. 19 Or if I send (8762) a pestilence into that land, and pour out (8804) my fury upon it in blood, to cut off (8687) from it man and beast: 20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith (8803) the Lord GOD, they shall deliver (8686) neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver (8686) their own souls by their righteousness. 21 For thus saith (8804) the Lord GOD; How much more when I send (8765) my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off (8687) from it man and beast? 22 Yet, behold, therein shall be left (8738) a remnant that shall be brought forth (8716), both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth (8802) unto you, and ye shall see (8804) their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted (8738) concerning the evil that I have brought (8689) upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought (8689) upon it. 23 And they shall comfort (8765) you, when ye see (8799) their ways and their doings: and ye shall know (8804) that I have not done (8804) without cause all that I have done (8804) in it, saith (8803) the Lord GOD.
