Ezekiel 18:21-29 [ Verse 24 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
21 But if the wicked will turn (8799) from all his sins that he hath committed (8804), and keep (8804) all my statutes, and do (8804) that which is lawful and right, he shall surely (8800) live (8799), he shall not die (8799). 22 All his transgressions that he hath committed (8804), they shall not be mentioned (8735) unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done (8804) he shall live (8799). 23 Have I any pleasure (8799) at all (8800) that the wicked should die? saith (8803) the Lord GOD: and not that he should return (8800) from his ways, and live (8804)? 24 But when the righteous turneth away (8800) from his righteousness, and committeth (8804) iniquity, and doeth (8799) according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth (8804), shall he live (8804)? All his righteousness that he hath done (8804) shall not be mentioned (8735): in his trespass (8804) that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned (8804), in them shall he die (8799). 25 Yet ye say (8804), The way of the Lord is not equal (8735). Hear (8798) now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal (8735)? are not your ways unequal (8735)? 26 When a righteous man turneth away (8800) from his righteousness, and committeth (8804) iniquity, and dieth (8804) in them; for his iniquity that he hath done (8804) shall he die (8799). 27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away (8800) from his wickedness that he hath committed (8804), and doeth (8799) that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive (8762). 28 Because he considereth (8799), and turneth away (8799) from all his transgressions that he hath committed (8804), he shall surely (8800) live (8799), he shall not die (8799). 29 Yet saith (8804) the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal (8735). O house of Israel, are not my ways equal (8735)? are not your ways unequal (8735)?
