Genesis 39:1-6 [ Verse 5 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from F759 the Ishmaelites, R1122 who had taken him down there. 2 The R1123 LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful F760 man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian. 3 Now his master saw R1124 that the LORD was with him and how the LORD caused R1125 all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found R1126 favor in his sight and became F761 his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all R1127 that he owned he put in his charge. F762 5 It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed R1128 the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; thus the R1129 LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field. 6 So he left everything he owned in Joseph's charge; F763 and with him there he did not concern F764 himself with anything except the food F765 which he ate. F766 Now Joseph was handsome R1130 in form and appearance.
