For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met (5660) Abraham returning (5723) from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed (5660) him;

To whom also Abraham gave (5656) a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation (5746) King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is (5748), King of peace;

Without father, without mother, without descent, having (5723) neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like (5772) unto the Son of God; abideth (5719) a priest continually *.

But he whose descent is not counted (5746) from them received tithes (5758) of Abraham, and blessed (5758) him that had (5723) the promises.

For the priesthood being changed (5746), there is made (5736) of necessity a change also of the law.
