Hosea 2:6-13 [ Verse 7 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
6 Therefore, behold, I will hedge (8801) up thy way with thorns, and make (8804) a wall, that she shall not find (8799) her paths. 7 And she shall follow (8765) after her lovers (8764), but she shall not overtake (8686) them; and she shall seek (8765) them, but shall not find (8799) them: then shall she say (8804), I will go (8799) and return (8799) to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now. 8 For she did not know (8804) that I gave (8804) her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied (8689) her silver and gold, which they prepared (8804) for Baal. 9 Therefore will I return (8799), and take away (8804) my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover (8689) my wool and my flax given to cover (8763) her nakedness. 10 And now will I discover (8762) her lewdness in the sight of her lovers (8764), and none shall deliver (8686) her out of mine hand. 11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease (8689), her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts. 12 And I will destroy (8689) her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said (8804), These are my rewards that my lovers (8764) have given (8804) me: and I will make (8804) them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat (8804) them. 13 And I will visit (8804) upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense (8686) to them, and she decked (8799) herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went (8799) after her lovers (8764), and forgat (8804) me, saith (8803) the LORD.
