Hosea 7:1-7 [ Verse 2 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 When I would have healed (8800) Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered (8738), and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit (8804) falsehood; and the thief cometh in (8799), and the troop of robbers spoileth (8804) without. 2 And they consider (8799) not in their hearts that I remember (8804) all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about (8804); they are before my face. 3 They make the king glad (8762) with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies. 4 They are all adulterers (8764), as an oven heated (8802) by the baker (8802), who ceaseth (8799) from raising (8800) after he hath kneaded (8800) the dough, until it be leavened (8800). 5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick (8689) with bottles of wine; he stretched out (8804) his hand with scorners (8802). 6 For they have made ready (8765) their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait (8800): their baker (8802) sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth (8802) as a flaming fire. 7 They are all hot (8735) as an oven, and have devoured (8804) their judges (8802); all their kings are fallen (8804): there is none among them that calleth (8802) unto me.
