Isaiah 22:8-14 [ Verse 10 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
8 And he discovered (8762) the covering of Judah, and thou didst look (8686) in that day to the armour of the house of the forest. 9 Ye have seen (8804) also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many (8804): and ye gathered together (8762) the waters of the lower pool. 10 And ye have numbered (8804) the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye broken down (8799) to fortify (8763) the wall. 11 Ye made (8804) also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old pool: but ye have not looked (8689) unto the maker (8802) thereof, neither had respect (8804) unto him that fashioned (8802) it long ago. 12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call (8799) to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding (8800) with sackcloth: 13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying (8800) oxen, and killing (8800) sheep, eating (8800) flesh, and drinking (8800) wine: let us eat (8800) and drink (8800); for to morrow we shall die (8799). 14 And it was revealed (8738) in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged (8792) from you till ye die (8799), saith (8804) the Lord GOD of hosts.
