Isaiah 22:1-7 [ Verse 7 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 The oracle F276 concerning the valley R762 of vision. What is the matter with you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops? R763 2 You who were full of noise, You boisterous town, you exultant R764 city; Your slain were not R765 slain with the sword, Nor did F277 they die in battle. 3 All R766 your rulers have fled together, And have been captured without F278 the bow; All of you who were found were taken captive together, Though F279 they had fled far away. 4 Therefore I say, "Turn your eyes away from me, Let me weep R767 bitterly, Do not try F280 to comfort me concerning the destruction of the daughter of my people." 5 For R768 the Lord GOD of hosts has a day R769 of panic, subjugation R770 and confusion In R771 the valley of vision, A breaking down of walls And a crying to F282 the mountain. 6 Elam R772 took up the quiver With the chariots, infantry F283 and horsemen; And Kir R773 uncovered the shield. 7 Then your choicest valleys were full of chariots, And the horsemen took up fixed positions at the gate.
