Isaiah 33:1-12 [ Verse 6 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Woe to R1208 you, O destroyer, While you were not destroyed; And he who R1209 is treacherous, while others did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you finish destroying, you R1210 will be destroyed; As soon as you cease to deal treacherously, others will deal R1211 treacherously with you. 2 O LORD, be R1212 gracious to us; we have waited R1213 for You. Be their F483 strength R1214 F484 every morning, Our salvation also in the time R1215 of distress. 3 At the sound of the tumult peoples R1216 flee; At the lifting R1217 up of Yourself nations disperse. 4 Your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers; As locusts rushing about men rush about on it. 5 The LORD is exalted, R1218 for He dwells on high; He has filled R1219 Zion with justice and righteousness. 6 And He will be the stability R1220 F485 of your times, A wealth R1221 of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; R1222 The fear R1223 of the LORD is his treasure. 7 Behold, their brave men cry in the F486 streets, The ambassadors R1224 F487 of peace weep bitterly. 8 The highways are desolate, the F488 traveler R1225 has ceased, He has broken R1226 the covenant, he has despised the cities, He has no regard for man. 9 The R1227 land mourns and pines away, Lebanon R1228 is shamed and withers; Sharon R1229 is like a desert plain, And Bashan and Carmel lose F489 their foliage. 10 "Now I R1230 will arise," says the LORD, "Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up. 11 "You have conceived R1231 chaff, F490 you will give birth to stubble; My F491 breath R1232 will consume you like a fire. 12 "The peoples will be burned to lime, Like R1233 cut thorns which are burned in the fire.
