Zion's Happy Future

1 The wilderness R1297 and the desert will be glad,

And the Arabah R1298 F520 will rejoice and blossom;

Like the crocus

2 It will blossom R1299 profusely

And rejoice R1300 with rejoicing and shout of joy.

The glory R1301 of Lebanon will be given to it,

The majesty of Carmel R1302 and Sharon.

They will see the glory R1303 of the LORD,

The majesty of our God.

3 Encourage R1304 the exhausted, F521 and strengthen the feeble. F522

4 Say to those with anxious R1305 heart,

"Take courage, fear not.

Behold, your God will come with vengeance; R1306

The recompense R1307 of God will come,

But He will save R1308 you."

5 Then the eyes R1309 of the blind will be opened

And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

6 Then the lame R1310 will leap like a deer,

And the tongue R1311 of the mute will shout for joy.

For waters will break forth in the wilderness R1312

And streams in the Arabah. F523

7 The scorched F524 land will become a pool

And the thirsty ground springs R1313 of water;

In the haunt R1314 of jackals, its resting place,

Grass becomes reeds and rushes.

8 A R1315 highway will be there, a R1316 roadway,

And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. R1317

The unclean will not travel on it,

But it will be for him who walks that way,

And fools R1318 will not wander on it.

9 No lion R1319 will be there,

Nor will any vicious beast go up on it;

These F525 will not be found there.

But the R1320 redeemed will walk there,

10 And the R1321 ransomed of the LORD will return

And come with joyful shouting to Zion,

With everlasting joy upon their heads.

They will find F526 gladness and joy,

And sorrow R1322 and sighing will flee away.
