Isaiah 51:9-16 [ Verse 10 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
9 Awake, R2126 awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; Awake as in the days R2127 of old, the generations of long ago. Was R2128 it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon? R2129 10 Was it not You who dried R2130 up the sea, The waters of the great deep; Who made the depths of the sea a pathway For the redeemed R2131 to cross over? 11 So the ransomed R2132 of the LORD will return And come with joyful shouting to Zion, And everlasting R2133 joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, And sorrow R2134 and sighing will flee away. 12 "I, even I, am He who comforts R2135 you. Who are you that you are afraid of man R2136 who dies And of the son of man who is made like R2137 grass, 13 That you have forgotten R2138 the LORD your Maker, Who stretched R2139 out the heavens And laid the foundations of the earth, That you fear R2140 continually all day long because of the fury of the oppressor, As he makes ready to destroy? But where is the fury of the oppressor? R2141 14 "The exile R2142 F720 will soon be set free, and will not die in the dungeon, nor R2143 will his bread be lacking. 15 "For I am the LORD your God, who stirs R2144 up the sea and its waves roar (the LORD of hosts is His name). 16 "I have put R2145 My words in your mouth and have covered R2146 you with the shadow of My hand, to establish R2147 F721 the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, `You are My people.'
