For he shall grow up (8799) before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see (8799) him, there is no beauty that we should desire (8799) him.

[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
He is despised (8737) and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted (8803) with grief: and we hid as it were (8688) our faces from him; he was despised (8737), and we esteemed (8804) him not.

53:4 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
Surely he hath borne (8804) our griefs, and carried (8804) our sorrows: yet we did esteem (8804) him stricken (8803), smitten (8716) of God, and afflicted (8794).

53:5 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
But he was wounded (8775) for our transgressions, he was bruised (8794) for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (8738).

53:6 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
All we like sheep have gone astray (8804); we have turned (8804) every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid (8689) on him the iniquity of us all.

53:7 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
He was oppressed (8738), and he was afflicted (8737), yet he opened (8799) not his mouth: he is brought (8714) as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers (8802) is dumb (8738), so he openeth (8799) not his mouth.

53:8 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
He was taken (8795) from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare (8787) his generation? for he was cut off (8738) out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

53:9 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
And he made (8799) his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done (8804) no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
Yet it pleased (8804) the LORD to bruise (8763) him; he hath put him to grief (8689): when thou shalt make (8799) his soul an offering for sin, he shall see (8799) his seed, he shall prolong (8686) his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper (8799) in his hand.

53:11 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
He shall see (8799) of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied (8799): by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify (8686) many; for he shall bear (8799) their iniquities.

53:12 - In Context | Read Chapter | Discuss this Verse ]
[ Original: Hebrew / Greek | Multi-Translation ]
Therefore will I divide (8762) him a portion with the great, and he shall divide (8762) the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out (8689) his soul unto death: and he was numbered (8738) with the transgressors (8802); and he bare (8804) the sin of many, and made intercession (8686) for the transgressors (8802).
