James 4:11-17 [ Verse 15 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
11 Do R156 not speak against one another, brethren. R157 He who speaks against a brother or judges R158 his brother, speaks against the R159 law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a R160 doer of the law but a judge of it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver R161 and Judge, the One who is able R162 to save and to destroy; but who R163 are you who judge your neighbor? 13 Come R164 now, you who say, "Today R165 or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." 14 Yet F70 you do not know what F71 your life will be like tomorrow. You R166 are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 Instead, F72 you ought to say, "If R167 the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that." 16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; F73 all R168 such boasting is evil. 17 Therefore, to R169 one who knows the right F74 thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.
