Book of James | Chapter 5 - Click for Chapter Audio | - James 5:12-20 [ Verse 17 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ] - 12 But above all, my R200 brethren, do R201 not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your F84 yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment. 13 Is anyone among you suffering? R202 Then R203 he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing R204 praises. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the R205 elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing R206 F85 him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer R207 offered F86 in faith will restore R208 F87 the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise R209 him up, and if he has committed sins, they F88 will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess R210 your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. R211 The R212 effective prayer F89 of a righteous man can accomplish much. 17 Elijah was a R213 man with a nature like ours, and he R214 prayed earnestly F90 that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three R215 years and six months. 18 Then he prayed R216 again, and the R217 sky F91 poured F92 rain and the earth produced its fruit. 19 My brethren, if R218 any among you strays from the R219 truth and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he F93 who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save R220 his soul from death and will cover R221 a multitude of sins.
