James 5:1-11 [ Verse 9 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Come R170 now, you R171 rich, weep R172 and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. 2 Your R173 riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in R174 the last days that you have stored up your treasure! 4 Behold, the R175 pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the R176 outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the R177 Lord of Sabaoth. F75 5 You have lived R178 luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened F76 your hearts in a R179 day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and put R180 F77 to death the R181 righteous man; he does not resist you. 7 Therefore be patient, brethren, R182 until R183 the coming of the Lord. The R184 farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it F78 gets the R185 early and late rains. 8 You R186 too be patient; strengthen R187 your hearts, for the R188 coming of the Lord is near. R189 9 Do R190 not complain, F79 brethren, R191 against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the R192 Judge is standing right R193 F80 at the door. F81 10 As an example, brethren, R194 of suffering and patience, take the R195 prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 We count those blessed R196 who endured. You have heard of the R197 endurance F82 of Job and have seen the R198 outcome F83 of the Lord's dealings, that the R199 Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.
