Jeremiah 10:17-25 [ Verse 22 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
17 Gather up (8798) thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant (8802) of the fortress. 18 For thus saith (8804) the LORD, Behold, I will sling (8802) out the inhabitants (8802) of the land at this once, and will distress (8689) them, that they may find (8799) it so. 19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous (8737): but I said (8804), Truly this is a grief, and I must bear (8799) it. 20 My tabernacle is spoiled (8795), and all my cords are broken (8738): my children are gone forth (8804) of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth (8802) my tent any more, and to set up (8688) my curtains. 21 For the pastors (8802) are become brutish (8738), and have not sought (8804) the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper (8689), and all their flocks shall be scattered (8738). 22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come (8802), and a great commotion out of the north country, to make (8800) the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons. 23 O LORD, I know (8804) that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh (8802) to direct (8687) his steps. 24 O LORD, correct (8761) me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing (8686). 25 Pour out (8798) thy fury upon the heathen that know (8804) thee not, and upon the families that call (8804) not on thy name: for they have eaten up (8804) Jacob, and devoured (8804) him, and consumed (8762) him, and have made his habitation desolate (8689).
