Jeremiah 31:10-17 [ Verse 12 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, And declare in the coastlands R1551 afar off, And say, "He who scattered Israel will gather R1552 him And keep him as a shepherd R1553 keeps his flock." 11 For the LORD has ransomed R1554 Jacob And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger R1555 than he. 12 "They will come R1556 and shout for joy on the height R1557 of Zion, And they will be radiant R1558 over the bounty F302 of the LORD-- Over the grain R1559 and the new wine and the oil, And over the young of the flock R1560 and the herd; And their life will be like a watered R1561 garden, And they will never R1562 languish again. 13 "Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, R1563 And the young men and the old, together, For I will turn R1564 their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy R1565 for their sorrow. 14 "I will fill F303 the soul of the priests with abundance, F304 And My people will be satisfied R1566 with My goodness," declares the LORD. 15 Thus says the LORD, "A R1567 voice is heard in Ramah, R1568 Lamentation and bitter weeping. Rachel is weeping for her children; She refuses R1569 to be comforted for her children, Because they R1570 are no more." 16 Thus says the LORD, "Restrain R1571 your voice from weeping And your eyes from tears; For your work R1572 will be rewarded," declares the LORD, "And they will return R1573 from the land of the enemy. 17 "There is hope R1574 for your future," declares the LORD, "And your children will return to their own territory.
