Job 21:17-26 [ Verse 22 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
17 "How often is the R581 lamp of the wicked put out, Or does their calamity R582 fall on them? Does God F226 apportion destruction in His anger? 18 "Are they as straw R583 before the wind, And like chaff R584 which the storm carries away? 19 "You say, `God R585 stores away a F227 man's iniquity for his sons.' Let God F228 repay him so that he may know it. 20 "Let his own R586 eyes see his decay, And let him drink R587 of the wrath of the F229 Almighty. 21 "For what does he care for his household after F230 him, When the number of his months is cut off? 22 "Can anyone teach R588 God knowledge, In that He judges R589 those on high? 23 "One dies R590 in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and satisfied; F231 24 His sides F232 are filled out with fat, And the marrow R591 of his bones is moist, 25 While another dies with a bitter soul, Never even tasting F233 anything good. 26 "Together they lie R592 down in the dust, And worms R593 cover them.
