Job 29:7-17 [ Verse 15 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
7 "When I went out to the R763 gate of the city, When I took F317 my seat in the square, 8 The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the old men arose and stood. 9 "The princes stopped R764 talking And put R765 their hands on their mouths; 10 The voice of the nobles was hushed, R766 F318 And their tongue R767 stuck to their palate. 11 "For when the R768 ear heard, it called me blessed, And when the eye saw, it gave witness of me, 12 Because I delivered the R769 poor who cried for help, And the orphan R770 who had no helper. 13 "The blessing of the one ready R771 to perish came upon me, And I made the widow's R772 heart sing for joy. 14 "I put R773 on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turban. 15 "I was eyes R774 to the blind And feet to the lame. 16 "I was a father to the R775 needy, And I investigated the case which I did not know. 17 "I broke R776 the jaws of the wicked And snatched the prey from his teeth.
