Job 30:15-31 [ Verse 29 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
15 "Terrors R794 are turned against me; They pursue my honor F334 as the wind, And my prosperity F335 has passed away like R795 a cloud. 16 "And now my R796 soul is poured out within F336 me; Days of affliction have seized me. 17 "At night it pierces my R797 bones within F337 me, And my gnawing pains take no rest. 18 "By a great force my garment is distorted; R798 It binds me about as the collar of my coat. 19 "He has cast me into the mire, R799 And I have become like dust and ashes. 20 "I cry R800 out to You for help, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You turn Your attention against me. 21 "You have become F338 cruel to me; With the might of Your hand You persecute R801 me. 22 "You lift R802 me up to the wind and cause me to ride; And You dissolve me in a storm. 23 "For I know that You will R803 bring me to death And to the house R804 of meeting for all living. 24 "Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand, Or in his disaster therefore cry R805 out for help? 25 "Have I not wept R806 for the one F339 whose life is hard? Was not my soul grieved for the R807 needy? 26 "When I expected R808 good, then evil came; When I waited for light, then R809 darkness came. 27 "I F340 am seething within R810 and cannot relax; Days of affliction confront me. 28 "I go about mourning R811 F341 without comfort; I stand up in the assembly and cry R812 out for help. 29 "I have become a brother to jackals R813 And a companion of ostriches. 30 "My skin R814 turns black on F342 me, And my bones R815 burn with fever. F343 31 "Therefore my harp R816 is F344 turned to mourning, And my flute to the sound of those who weep.
