The Nations Will Be Judged

1 "For F29 behold, in R120 those days and at that time,

When I restore R121 the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 I will gather R122 all the nations

And bring them down to the valley R123 of Jehoshaphat. F30

Then I will enter R124 into judgment with them there

On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel,

Whom they have scattered R125 among the nations;

And they have divided R126 up My land.

3 "They have also cast R127 lots for My people,

Traded R128 F31 a boy for a harlot

And sold a girl for wine that they may drink.

4 "Moreover, what are you to Me, O Tyre, R129 Sidon and all the regions of Philistia? R130 Are you rendering Me a recompense? But if you do recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will return R131 your recompense on your head. 5 "Since you have taken R132 My silver and My gold, brought My precious treasures F32 to your temples, 6 and sold the sons R133 of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks F33 in order to remove them far from their territory, 7 behold, I am going to arouse R134 them from the place where you have sold them, and return your recompense on your head. 8 "Also I will sell R135 your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, R136 to a distant nation," for the LORD has spoken.

9 Proclaim R137 this among the nations:

Prepare R138 a war; rouse R139 the mighty men!

Let all the soldiers draw near, let them come up!

10 Beat R140 your plowshares into swords

And your pruning hooks into spears;

Let R141 the weak say, "I am a mighty man."

11 Hasten R142 F34 and come, all you surrounding nations,

And gather yourselves there.

Bring down, O LORD, Your mighty R143 ones.

12 Let the nations be aroused

And come up to the valley R144 of Jehoshaphat, F35

For there I will sit to judge R145

All the surrounding nations.

13 Put R146 in the sickle, for the harvest R147 is ripe.

Come, tread, R148 for the wine R149 press is full;

The vats overflow, for their wickedness R150 is great.

14 Multitudes, R151 multitudes in the valley R152 of decision! F36

For the day R153 of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. F36

15 The sun R154 and moon grow dark

And the stars lose their brightness.

16 The LORD roars R155 from Zion

And utters R156 His voice from Jerusalem,

And the heavens R157 and the earth tremble.

But the LORD is a refuge R158 for His people

And a stronghold R159 to the sons of Israel.

17 Then you will know R160 that I am the LORD your God,

Dwelling in Zion, My holy R161 mountain.

So Jerusalem will be holy, R162

And strangers R163 will pass through it no more.

Judah Will Be Blessed

18 And in that day

The mountains R164 will drip with sweet F37 wine,

And the hills will flow R165 with milk,

And all the brooks R166 of Judah will flow with water;

And a spring R167 will go out from the house of the LORD

To water the valley of Shittim. F38

19 Egypt will become a waste,

And Edom will become a desolate wilderness,

Because of the violence R168 done F39 to the sons of Judah,

In whose land they have shed innocent blood.

20 But Judah will be inhabited R169 forever

And Jerusalem for all generations.

21 And I will avenge R170 their blood which I have not avenged,

For the LORD dwells in Zion.
