The Warnings of History to the Ungodly

1 Jude, R1 F1 a bond-servant R2 of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, F2

To those R3 who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept R4 for Jesus Christ: 2 May R5 mercy and peace and love be R6 multiplied to you.

3 Beloved, R7 while I was making every effort to write you about our common R8 salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend R9 earnestly for the R10 faith which was once for all handed R11 down to the R12 saints. F3 4 For certain persons have crept R13 in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked R14 F4 out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the R15 grace of our God into licentiousness R16 and deny R17 our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5 Now I desire to remind R18 you, though you R19 know all things once for all, that the F5 Lord, after R20 saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently F6 destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And angels R21 who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept R22 in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day, 7 just as Sodom R23 and Gomorrah and the cities R24 around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went R25 after strange F7 flesh, are exhibited as an example R26 F8 in undergoing the punishment R27 of eternal fire.

8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile R28 the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic F9 majesties. 9 But Michael R29 the R30 archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the R31 body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The R32 Lord rebuke you!" 10 But these R33 men revile the things which they do not understand; and the R34 things which they know by instinct, like R33 unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. F10 11 Woe to them! For they have gone the R35 way of Cain, and for pay they F11 have rushed headlong into the R36 error of Balaam, and perished R37 in the rebellion of Korah. 12 These are the men who are hidden F12 reefs in R38 your love feasts when they feast with you without R39 fear, caring for themselves; clouds R40 without water, carried R41 along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly F13 dead, uprooted; R42 13 wild R43 waves of the sea, casting up their R44 own shame F14 like foam; wandering stars, for R45 whom the black F15 darkness has been reserved forever.

14 It was also about these men that Enoch, R46 in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, R47 the Lord came with many F16 thousands of His holy ones, 15 to R48 execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly R49 sinners have spoken against Him." 16 These are grumblers, R50 finding fault, following R51 after their own lusts; they F17 speak arrogantly, R52 flattering people for R53 the sake of gaining an advantage.

Keep Yourselves in the Love of God

17 But you, beloved, R54 ought R55 to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the R56 apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, "In R57 the last time there will be mockers, following R58 after their own ungodly lusts." 19 These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, R59 F18 devoid F19 of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, R60 building R61 yourselves up on your most holy faith, R60 praying R62 in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting R63 anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting; 23 save others, snatching R64 them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating R65 even the garment polluted by the flesh.

24 Now R66 to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make R67 you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great R68 joy, 25 to the only R69 God R70 our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be R71 glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before R72 all time and now and forever. F20 Amen.
