Lamentations 1:12-22 [ Verse 12 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
12 "Is it R36 nothing to all you who pass this way? Look and see if there is any pain F14 like my pain F14 Which was severely dealt out to me, Which the LORD inflicted on the day of His fierce R38 anger. 13 "From on high He sent fire into my bones, R39 And it prevailed F15 over them. He has spread a net R40 for my feet; He has turned me back; He has made me desolate, R41 Faint F16 all day long. 14 "The yoke R42 of my transgressions is bound; By His hand they are knit together. They have come R43 upon my neck; He has made my strength fail. F17 The Lord has R44 given me into the hands Of those against whom I am not able to stand. 15 "The Lord R45 has rejected all my strong men In my midst; He has called an appointed time F18 against me To crush my young R46 men; The Lord has trodden R47 as in a wine press The virgin daughter of Judah. 16 "For these things I weep; R48 My F19 eyes run down with water; Because far from me is a comforter, R49 One who restores my soul. My children are desolate Because the enemy has prevailed." 17 Zion stretches R50 out her hands; There is no one to comfort her; The LORD has commanded R51 concerning Jacob That the ones round about him should be his adversaries; Jerusalem R52 has become an unclean thing among them. 18 "The LORD is righteous; R53 For I have rebelled R54 against His command; F20 Hear now, all peoples, And behold R55 my pain; F21 My R56 virgins and my young men Have gone into captivity. 19 "I called R57 to my lovers, but they deceived me; My priests R58 and my elders perished in the city While they sought food to restore R59 their F22 strength themselves. 20 "See, O LORD, for I am in distress; My spirit R60 F23 is greatly troubled; My heart is overturned within me, For I have been very rebellious. R61 In the street the sword slays; F24 In the house it is like death. 21 "They have heard that I groan; R62 There is no one to comfort me; All my enemies have heard of my calamity; F25 They are glad R63 that You have done it. Oh, that You would bring the day which You have proclaimed, That they may become like R64 me. 22 "Let all their wickedness come before You; And deal R65 with them as You have dealt with me For all my transgressions; For my groans are many and my heart is faint."
