Micah 5:1-6 [ Verse 2 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 "Now F36 muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They F37 have laid siege against us; With a rod they will smite R132 the judge of Israel on the cheek. 2 "But F38 as for you, R133 Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you R134 One will go forth for Me to be ruler R135 in Israel. His F39 goings forth are from R136 long ago, From the days of eternity." 3 Therefore He will give R137 them up until the time When she who R138 is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder R139 of His brethren Will return to the sons of Israel. 4 And He will arise and shepherd R140 His flock In the strength of the LORD, In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, F40 Because at F41 that time He will be great To the ends R141 of the earth. 5 This One will R142 be our peace. When the Assyrian R143 invades our land, When he tramples on our citadels, F42 Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight leaders of men. 6 They will shepherd R144 the land of Assyria with the sword, The land of Nimrod R145 at its entrances; And He will deliver R146 us from the Assyrian When he attacks our land And when he tramples our territory.
