Mark 12:13-17 [ Verse 14 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
13 And they send (5719) unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch (5661) him in his words. 14 And when they were come (5631), they say (5719) unto him, Master, we know (5758) that thou art (5748) true, and * * carest * (5719) for no man: for thou regardest (5719) not the person of men, but teachest (5719) the way of God in truth: Is it lawful (5748) to give (5629) tribute to Caesar, or not? 15 Shall we give (5632), or shall we not give (5632)? But he, knowing (5761) their hypocrisy, said (5627) unto them, Why tempt ye (5719) me? bring (5720) me a penny, that I may see (5632) it. 16 And they brought (5656) it. And he saith (5719) unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said (5627) unto him, Caesar's. 17 And Jesus answering (5679) said (5627) unto them, Render (5628) to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled (5656) at him.
