Mark 14:43-52 [ Verse 45 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
43 And immediately, while he yet spake (5723), cometh (5736) Judas, one * (5752) of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44 And he that betrayed (5723) him had given (5715) them a token, saying (5723), Whomsoever I shall kiss (5661), that same is he (5748); take (5657) him, and lead him away (5628) safely. 45 And as soon as he was come (5631), he goeth (5631) straightway to him, and saith (5719), Master, master; and kissed (5656) him. 46 And they laid (5627) their hands on him, and took (5656) him. 47 And one of them that stood by (5761) drew (5671) a sword, and smote (5656) a servant of the high priest, and cut off (5627) his ear. 48 And Jesus answered (5679) and said (5627) unto them, Are ye come out (5627), as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take (5629) me? 49 I was (5713) daily * * with you in the temple teaching (5723), and ye took (5656) me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled (5686). 50 And they all forsook (5631) him, and fled (5627). 51 And there followed (5707) him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast (5772) about his naked body; and the young men laid hold (5719) on him: 52 And he left (5631) the linen cloth, and fled (5627) from them naked.
