Nahum 1:2-8 [ Verse 7 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
2 A jealous R3 and avenging God is the LORD; The LORD is avenging R4 and wrathful. F2 The LORD takes vengeance R5 on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies. 3 The LORD is slow R6 to anger and great in power, And the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. In whirlwind R7 and storm is His way, And clouds R8 are the dust beneath His feet. 4 He rebukes R9 the sea and makes it dry; He dries up all the rivers. Bashan R10 and Carmel wither; The blossoms of Lebanon wither. 5 Mountains quake R11 because of Him And the hills dissolve; R12 Indeed the earth is upheaved R13 by His presence, The world R14 and all the inhabitants in it. 6 Who R15 can stand before His indignation? Who can endure the burning R16 of His anger? His wrath R17 is poured out like fire And the rocks R18 are broken up by Him. 7 The LORD is good, R19 A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He R20 knows those who take refuge in Him. 8 But with an overflowing R21 flood He will make a complete end of its F3 site, And will pursue His enemies into darkness. R22
