Proverbs 8:1-11 [ Verse 10 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Does not wisdom R289 call, And understanding lift F87 up her voice? 2 On top of the R290 heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3 Beside the gates, R291 at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out: 4 "To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men. 5 "O naive R292 F88 ones, understand prudence; And, O fools, R293 understand wisdom. F89 6 "Listen, for I will speak noble R294 things; And the opening of my lips will reveal right R295 things. 7 "For my mouth R296 will utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 "All the utterances of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked R297 or perverted in them. 9 "They are all straightforward R298 to him who understands, And right to those who find R299 knowledge. 10 "Take my instruction R300 and not silver, And knowledge rather than choicest gold. 11 "For wisdom is better R301 than jewels; F90 And all R302 desirable things cannot compare with her.
