The LORD a Refuge and Defense.
For the choir director. A Psalm of David.
1 In the LORD I take R248 refuge;
How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain; R249
2 For, behold, the wicked bend R250 the bow,
They make R251 F110 ready their arrow upon the string
To shoot R252 in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations R253 are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?"
4 The LORD is in His holy R254 temple; the LORD F111 'S throne R255 is in heaven;
His eyes R256 behold, His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The LORD tests R257 the righteous and the R258 wicked,
And the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain R259 snares; F112
Fire R260 and brimstone and burning R261 wind will be the portion of their R262 cup.
7 For the LORD is righteous, R263 He R264 loves righteousness; F113
The upright will behold R265 His face.
