Psalm 147:1-11 [ Verse 2 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Praise (8761) ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises (8763) unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. 2 The LORD doth build up (8802) Jerusalem: he gathereth together (8762) the outcasts (8737) of Israel. 3 He healeth (8802) the broken (8803) in heart, and bindeth up (8764) their wounds. 4 He telleth (8802) the number of the stars; he calleth (8799) them all by their names. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. 6 The LORD lifteth up (8767) the meek: he casteth the wicked down (8688) to the ground. 7 Sing (8798) unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise (8761) upon the harp unto our God: 8 Who covereth (8764) the heaven with clouds, who prepareth (8688) rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow (8688) upon the mountains. 9 He giveth (8802) to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry (8799). 10 He delighteth (8799) not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure (8799) in the legs of a man. 11 The LORD taketh pleasure (8802) in them that fear him, in those that hope (8764) in his mercy.
