A Psalm of Fearless Trust in God.

A Psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my light R731 and my salvation; R732

Whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the defense R733 F250 of my life;

Whom R734 shall I dread?

2 When evildoers came upon me to devour R735 my flesh,

My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled R736 and fell.

3 Though a host R737 encamp against me,

My heart will not fear;

Though war arise against me,

In spite of this I shall F251 be confident. R738

4 One R739 thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek:

That I may dwell R740 in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,

To behold the R741 beauty F252 of the LORD

And to meditate R742 F253 in His temple.

5 For in the day R743 of trouble He will conceal R744 me in His tabernacle; F254

In the secret place of His tent He will hide R745 me;

He will lift R746 me up on a rock.

6 And now my R747 head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,

And I will offer in His tent sacrifices R748 with F255 shouts of joy;

I will sing, R749 yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.

7 Hear, R750 O LORD, when I cry with my voice,

And be gracious to me and answer R751 me.

8 When You said, "Seek R752 My face," my heart said to You,

"Your face, O LORD, I R753 shall seek."

9 Do R754 not hide Your face from me,

Do not turn Your servant away in anger; R755

You have been my R756 help;

Do R757 not abandon me nor forsake R758 me,

O God of my salvation!

10 For F256 my father and my R759 mother have forsaken me,

But the R760 LORD will take me up.

11 Teach R761 me Your way, O LORD,

And lead me in a level R762 path

Because of my F257 foes.

12 Do not deliver me over to the desire R763 F258 of my adversaries,

For false R764 witnesses have risen against me,

And such as breathe R765 out violence.

13 I F259 would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness R766 of the LORD

In the land R767 of the living.

14 Wait R768 for the LORD;

Be strong R769 and let your heart take courage;

Yes, wait for the LORD.
